Joyride

As a part of a collaborative effort, Joyride (2015) aimed to engage with the people in the greater Bangor area in Maine. Collaborating artists transformed a 1985 model Burro Camper to a pop-up, mobile disco with light and sound equipment. The group stopped at several locations in Bangor, and acted like a flash mob, and started dancing in each location.

The idea behind this “happening” derived from the Na Nachs of Israel by using sound and light elements to invite a participation to the random audience on the streets, malls, stores, downtown etc. People are invited to participate and involve, evolving into an investigation to an open ended offer. The objective of the project was to engage with community in a fun and surprising way. During the stops, many people joined the group and danced together.

Below is the video documentation of Joyride.
